Telegraph Pole - Wilkinson Avenue, Broseley

Good Afternoon Resident,

We have received reports in recent days of youths interfering with a telegraph pole on Wilkinson Avenue, Broseley.

Whilst this may appear harmless, telegraph poles form part of critical telecommunications infrastructure and can pose significant safety risks if damaged or destabilised. Climbing, shaking or tampering with poles can cause structural weakness, resulting in the pole becoming unsafe and potentially collapsing. There is also a risk of injury, as well as disruption to telephone and broadband services for residents.

Parents and guardians are encouraged to speak with young people about the dangers associated with interfering with utility infrastructure and the potential consequences of their actions.

Following the reports, BT attended the location and carried out checks on the telegraph pole. They have confirmed that the pole is secure and safe.
